NBA Playoffs

The NBA Playoffs are starting up soon, which Im sure makes some people happy. Now, Im not the biggest basketball fan out there, and I probably will write about basketball the least out of all of the sports, but I have a soft spot for the Toronto Raptors. You almost have to feel sorry for them in a way, because between apathetic superstars (Im talking to you Vince Carter) and moronic management, they have been through rough times.
But, now, the Raptors are in the playoffs, and could make some noise. Of course, in order to do so, they have to get through Vince Carter's New Jersey Nets. The Raptors have a great PF in Chris Bosh, who unlike Vince Carter, actually tries, and seems to like the direction the Raptors are headed. Combine that with a strong bench with guys like Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, Kris Humphries and Morris Peterson, and you have a recipe for a long playoff run.

However, the Nets have the advantage of experience on their side. Guys like Carter, Jason Kidd, and Richard Jefferson have been around for a while. Also, Bostjan Nachbar has been a revelation this year.

This series really could go either way, but I am inclined to think the Raptors take this in 6, simply because their bench seems to be better than New Jersey's.

(For some Vince Carter bashing, look below)

(Vince Carter)

Just look at this picture of him during his Raptors career. Doesn't he look like a guy who is thinking "At least I get my 15 million dollar paycheque". Well, if you can't tell that by this smug looking smile, then I would really wonder about you. You still are a crybaby Vince, and I hope you are booed loudly by the Air Canada Centre faithful Saturday night. Can't wait for you to bail on New Jersey too.
