Sharks, Sabres join Ducks, Rangers, and Senators in 2nd Round

The 2nd round is starting to shape up, with 5 teams having advanced. The San Jose Sharks defeated the Nashville Predators 3-2, thanks to a goal by Patrick Marleau late in the 3rd period. The Sharks took that series 4-1, in what many thought would be a much closer series. The Buffalo Sabres (I refuse to use that ugly Slug logo, so ill use their old school logo, which looks fine to me) beat the New York Islanders 4-3 tonight, to take a highly controversial series 4-1, in which questionable officiating clearly hurt the Islanders.

The Sharks could end up facing any one of Detroit, Anaheim, or Dallas, depending on who wins the Detroit-Calgary series and the Vancouver-Dallas series. The Sabres will either face the New York Rangers, or Tampa Bay, depending on the results of the New Jersey-Tampa Bay series.

(For reference on what the Slugs logo looks like for my non hockey fan readers, look below)

That is just a dreadful logo, so for future reference, any story that requires a Buffalo Sabres logo, will use their far superior old school logo

Personally, i've never had a huge beef with the new Buffalo logo, as I thought their old one sucked just as bad... their jersey design is awful however. I was going for the Preds,im sad to see them take another first round beating... I also took a lot of Pens in my hockey pool, which makes me a sad panda. lol.

Mark Recchi forever! lol
